farmville.JPGFarmville is thought to be heading to a whole load of mobile platforms, after a string of telling web domains were recently bought up.

Domain names farmvilleandroid.com, farmvilleipad.com, farmvilleiphone.com and farmvillesms.com have been discovered by website Superannuation. The domains seem to suggest that Android, iPad, iPhone and even SMS versions of the game are on the way.

While they could be being bought up by domain bots, the fact that they were registered at DNStination Inc., where developers Zynga have their official website farmville.com adds credence to the rumours.

Zynga have since commented that there are “plans to expand to various mobile platforms,” but that they “cannot provide additional information at this time.”

One of the most popular Facebook applications available, the farming simulation game has attracted over 80 million players. With a user base that huge, Zynga would be crazy not to expand further.
