Kobo sets itself apart from other digital book stores by offering a synchronised eBook library across a number of gadgets, from smartphones to netbooks. For instance, if you’re lucky enough to own an iPhone, an e-reader, a tablet PC and a desktop PC, Kobo will use cloud storage to sync your library across multiple devices, meaning your page is kept whatever you’re reading the eBook on, as well as giving you access to all your novels at any time.

As well as thousands of free titles, Kobo also has publishers such as Random House UK, Penguin Group UK, Bloomsbury, Simon & Schuster UK and Faber & Faber on board.

“The UK presents a huge opportunity for Kobo to showcase its global capabilities,” said Michael Tamblyn, Kobo’s Executive Vice President of content, sales and merchandising. “Our focus is on assembling the world’s best catalogue of content for our readers and delivering a fantastic purchasing and reading experience on any device a customer chooses.”

The Kobo application is available for free download on the App Store, BlackBerry AppWorld, Palm Pre App Catalog, Android Marketplace, or by visiting www.kobobooks.com.
