tapulous.jpgTapulous, the iPhone app developers famous for their popular rhythm game Tap Tap Revenge, have claimed that they are now making close to $1 million (£619k) a month from sales of their iPhone applications.

Tap Tap Revenge was originally a free download, but the Guitar Hero clone has proven so popular that many of its 20 million users are happily paying for a premium subscription. Further revenue is generated by Tapulous through the sales of downloadable songs for the app and the presence of advertising.

Tapulous aren’t the only company beginning to see the financial possibilities of iPhone apps. EA, the publishing house for the massive FIFA and Need For Speed franchises, recently bought iPhone app specialists Playfish in a deal reportedly worth £170 million.
