Film Bundles set to hit the iTunes store

iTunes-film-bundles.jpgIt’s already proved a hit in the US, and now it looks like Apple are shipping it over to us Brits too; the iTunes store is preparing to launch Film Bundles, letting users grab a collection of flicks in a single purchase.

The team over at Electric Pig have caught sight of an unfinished iTunes page for the deals, revealing that some double-bills will cost £6.99 whilst other double and triple features will weigh in at £9.99.

It’s a mixed bag on offer at the US store right now. There’s the mandatory action trilogy and sequels (X-Men, Bad Boys etc) and a Dirty Dancing collection (Dirty Dancing and sequel Havana Nights) alongside a set focussed on starlet Scarlett Johansson.

It’s a nice feature, and with iTunes planning digital music streaming and video streaming in the player next year, it looks like the store is in for a well overdue bout of Spring cleaning.

Here’s hoping they beef the bundle collections up with some higher quality offerings though for the UK debut. Sets of films by great directors like Stanley Kubrick or Francis Ford Coppola would be a step in the right direction.
