eBay Nutcase of the Week: eBay itself, for removing kids WWII board game that "incited racial hatred"

paul-ramsier-escape-from-colditz.jpgPoor old Paul Ramsier found himself accused of inciting racial hatred – by trying to sell an old World War II-themed board game on everyone’s favourite online junk shop.

Paul’s descent into the world of inadvertent racial hatred started when he realised his old Escape from Colditz board game was worth quite a bit nowadays, so he listed it up on eBay. The auction hit the lofty heights of £20, before eBay yanked the sale, telling Paul the listing promoted “hatred and racial intolerance” – because the game has a Swastika on the box.

Which is quite a shame for Paul as Escape from Colditz usually goes for around £80 if it’s in good condition, and he’s also been put in the local newspaper as a racist now as well.

  • Weird! I bought that very same version of the game last year on ebay for £20. There was a version later on that had the swastikas removed from the box – de-nazied if you would.
