According to all manner of internet sources, Samsung is planning to announce their follow up to the NC10 netbook for February next year. The only trouble is that the mooted NC20, well, it isn’t a netbook.

First up is that it’s got a 12.1″ screen which makes it a little on the big side and, second of all, it runs off a 1.3GHz VIA Nano U225 chip and not an Atom. Add on the 160GB spinning style HDD, 3-in-1 card reader and the knife in the chest that it weighs 1.5kg and one wonders why anyone woul be interested at all.

Anyway, I don’t suppose there’s any need to be a netbook Nazi about this one. If it’s good, it’s good. Everyone loved the battery life on the NC10 and I’m sure Samsung isn’t foolish enough to trash all their good work so very quickly, are they? Pay $642 in Feb and find out.
