Samsung X460 14" laptop – portable, but not a mobile phone
Doesn’t anyone at Samsung search for their product names on Google before releasing them? The Samsung X460, as well as being a new laptop, is also a mobile phone. It’s not even a good mobile phone.
Luckily, this is a decent laptop. It’s not blow-your-brains-out-because-you’ve-seen-jesus amazing, but it’s quite good. It’s aimed as a “portability” laptop, but why anyone would carry around a 14″ laptop when they could carry around a netbook is beyond me. That might be because I’ve just bought an Acer Aspire One, though, and I’m using it to type this up.
The X460 has a 14.1″ screen, an “all-new” Centrino 2 processer, integrated optical drive (worth mentioning these days, as most netbooks don’t have them), and a mobile graphics chip. It’s also got WiFi, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel webcam, HDMI connector, and a seven-in-one card reader, along with a fingerprint scanner.
The X460 weighs just 1.84kg, which isn’t too bad for a laptop of that size. That includes a 6-cell battery, but you can upgrade to a 9-cell if you’re so inclined. The press release calls the battery life “revolutionary”. It’s quoted as five hours. Are you feeling inspired to overthrow the government, having read that?
The X460 will show up at the end of October, aiming squarely at the Christmas market. It’ll cost Santa £1000, so I hope you’ve been a good little boy or girl this year.

i’m surprise,No Blueray? but the rest is perfect
Just read Trusted Reviews preview of this (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2008/09/23/Samsung-X460-14-1in-Notebook—Exclusive-Preview/p1) looks pretty nice and amazing it weighs less than 2kg as well. I do wonder if 14.1 is a bit big though, would sooner have a 13.3in, like the x360, just with a optical drive!
