Griffin Simplifi – iPod dock/card reader/USB hub combo device

griffin-ipod-dock.jpgWe normally ignore most iPod dock releases here at Tech Digest. If we were to cover every single one, then you’d get three or four popping up each week. This one’s a bit different though. It integrates a 5-in-one card reader, and a USB hub. Much more useful.

The card reader will read Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SD, xD and CompactFlash. The USB ports aren’t powered by default, but the Simplifi ships with an AC adaptor which, when plugged in, will juice up those ports. If you use a lot of memory cards, and an iPod, and USB devices, then this is sure to clear out some of the clutter on your desk.

I’ve just asked Griffin when this’ll be showing up in the UK, and they’ve promised to get back to me shortly. When they do, I’ll update this post.

  • I want to know if I can use this as a standalone card reader…so that I can download pics off my SD or CF cards to my iPod 5G (80gb) while on the road?? That would be sweet.
