Tangent has announced the UK availability of its stylish and colourful range of digital radios, offering no-nonsense DAB in a small, solid wooden cabinet that I’d be very happy to have sitting in my house.

It’s not one for those who want lots of bells and whistles, so you won’t get timeshifted radio, memory card inputs, or the dreaded iPod connectivity. For listening to high quality digital radio, though, it does the job.

It features just two large buttons – one for volume and one for tuning FM radio – and 12 clearly labelled buttons. It has a 5W speaker and measures 11.6 x 21 x 14.5cms.

Available in a choice of colours including traditional walnut and oak veneers, white or red high gloss, black, and limited edition yellow or lime-green high gloss finishes.

It’s not the cheapest DAB on the block, particularly as some might view it as lacking features, coming in at £159.99. It’s distributed via Sennheiser.
