The slow, painful, public torture that is the development of Sony's avatar-based chatroom/shop system PlayStation Home could soon be over, as Sony prepares to open its long-running private beta test to the public.
Don't go thinking that's a proper launch for PlayStation Home, though - it's just going to start letting a few more pro-Sony supporters into the beta test to say how it's all "GREAT!" In America, users can log onto PlayStation Network and download the Home theme, which Sony considers applying to join the Home Beta. And for once, Europe isn't being left out...
Speaking on the official blog of PlayStation, Sony man Jack Buser said "In Europe, SCEE is also beginning their expanded closed beta, directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PLAYSTATION Network and PLAYSTATION Store."
So, if you've been playing on PSN lots, giving Sony money regularly and seem to be nice, basically, expect an email regarding getting into the Home Beta. I won't bother checking my inbox.
