I’m only putting a picture of what looks like a perfectly friendly medical gadget here, known as the PEAK PlasmaBlade, but if you really want to see what it’s all about, take a look at the video after the jump.

On the safe side of the page, I’ll use words to tell you how it works. Unlike other electrosurgery tools, the PlasmaBlade functions at low temperatures with pulses of plasma energy which cut and cauterise at the same time without doing any damage to the surrounding tissue. As a result, it minimises the danger of any uncontrollable bleeding.

So. That’s how it works. Now, I warn you to close this page and go elsewhere. Forget all about the fact that there is a demonstration video over the jump. Just go on your way. Your life will be better for it.

I told you, don’t do it to yourself.

Ok, consider yourself warned but don’t come crying to me when you can’t look at your flesh the same ever again and I refuse to pick up the bill for your years of therapy to squeeze the memories out of your psyche. Ok then. Good luck.

So, how was that? Nice, huh? Well, you’ll be pleased to hear that the PlasmaBlade has now been approved for surgical use in the US, so if you’re itching to see first hand your fatty layers bulging out from a fissure in you own skin, then that’s where to head for your op. Now how about lunch?

  • ugh… thanks for the warning – which I ignored till it was too late. Feel a little faint now 😛

    cool looking little thing though.

    • You’re a braver man than I am, purplefox. I couldn’t even make it past the first incision. But yes, very cool little thing.
