Acer shows off seven new notebook PCs: two Aspire and five TravelMate

Acer has announced seven new notebook PCs coming to the UK soon, though pricing and exact timing haven’t been revealed yet.

Two, the 2930 and 5930G, are additions to their Aspire range, while the 6493 3G, 6293 3G, 5730G, 7730G, and 6593G 3G form part of the TravelMate series.

The Aspire 2930 features a T9600 or T9400 Intel Centrino 2 processor running at up to 2.8GHz, plus a Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset, up to 4GB of RAM, 12.1-inch widescreen LCD with 1,280 x 800 resolution, Dolby Home Theatre audio enhancement, high definition audio support, up 320GB hard drive, and x DVD Super-Multi drive.

The Aspire AS5930G features a T9400 or P9500 Intel Centrino 2 processor running at up to 2.8GHz, plus Mobile Intel PM45 Express Chipset, up to 4GB of RAM, 15.4 inch widescreen with 1,280 x 800 resolution and 8ms response time, digital TV tuner options, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT or NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics, both with PureVideo HD technology, HDMI, Dolby Home Theatre and high definition audio, up to 320GB hard drive, and 2x Blu-ray drive option.

The TravelMate 6493 features an Intel Centrino 2 T9400 or P9500 processor running at up to 2.8GHz, with up to 4GB of RAM, 14.1-inch widescreen, Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset, up to 320GB hard drive, and hot-swappable second hard drive/optical drive.

The TravelMate 6293 3G features many of the same options as the 6493 but has a smaller 12.1-inch widescreen.

The TravelMate 5730G has the same processor, but with a 15.4-inch display, HDMI interface, and 2x Blu-ray drive option.

The TravelMate 7730G offers a 17-inch display and ups the resolution to 1,440 x 900. It also offers a 2x Blu-ray drive as an option, and has HDMI, high definition audio, and many other features required for enjoying high quality HD video.

Finally, the TravelMate 6593G 3G offers a 15.4-inch display with 1,280 x 800 resolution, and no Blu-ray option.
