Most of you will have no direct need for a match box-sized digital TV unit that'll plug into any television set, no matter how ancient, but how many of you have a gran that's going to need something like the TVonics MFR-300?
Yep, me too. I'm slightly dreading digital switchover as I know the onus will be on me to teach my nearly telegram-aged ancestor how it's all done these days but at least this palm-sized little gadget may make it as non-frightening an experience as possible.
The MFR-300 measures just 70mm x 27mm x 54mm and doesn't require a SCART connection to access its eight-day EPG of TV and radio channels and, just so you don't have to sit and squirm in your elderly one's company the next time Eastenders gets a little frisky, it even comes with a parental control system.
Naturally, it has an apparently easy to use remote control and retails at £59.99, although I have just spied the more basic MFR-200 for £39.99 that doesn't appear to be a whole lot different.
