According to Google Trend, internet searches for the term "iPhone porn" have increased by a factor of five over the last six months indicating exactly what it is that the consumer has decided Apple's new baby is all about.
With the introduction of the iPhone 3G users can stream video - largely of the crumpet ilk, it seems - to any location they chose and with 3/4 of all iPhone owners being male and 1/3 of them watching more than ten times the amount of video than any other mobile user, the only conclusion is that that's a lot of porn.
In accordance, makers and distributors of pornography are making it more readily available and even tailor-making mobile sized smut for the iPhone.
"A huge portion of the $13 billion adult market has been reliant on physical distribution," said Farley Cahen of AVN Media Network, the adult industry's trade body.
"That business model is shifting to downloadable and streaming content."
Apple are themselves none too chuffed commenting that "our iPhone 2.0 software will give customers the opportunity to turn on parental controls," which seems a little negative if you ask me.
Just because they're skin flicks, it doesn't mean that it's not valid rich content. Apple have essentially supplied the world's most personal and portable video players. What did they expect?
Doubtless Belkin and Griffin will not be so po-faced. Twenty quid says they're working on the new iPorn range of accessories as we speak, including protective screen covers and a holder to clip it onto your mac.
