microvault_usb.jpgSony has a new range of USB drives on the market – the MicroVault Click – offering increased storage and speedy transfer rates.

Both the MicroVault Click and the higher-end Click Excellence incorporate a neat ‘click’ design to uncover and retract the USB connector for quick and easy use. The Excellence has capacities from 2GB up to 8GB and up to 31MB/s read and 11MB/s write speeds. The MicroVault Click is smaller and lighter, with capacities of 2GB to 16GB.

There’s also Windows ReadyBoost5 compatibility and Sony’s pre-installed Virtual Expander6 compression software. Available in the coming weeks, there’s no pricing available as yet.

  • This and the recently released new PortableApps.com Suite would work really well together.

Those read/writes are impressive, and branded ‘Sony’ I bet the prices are too.

I just bought a ‘PNY Attache Optima’ USB stick with 8GB of space, 25MB/s read and 10MB/s write on Play.com for £17.99 delivered.

You think this will be in any way comparable?

    Yeah, I thought not. :o)
