I'm very disappointed to find out that audio technology specialist Klipsch is not a Dutch company but there my disappointment ends, because they've basically created some of the most exciting earphones known to man.
You don't believe me, do you? Fine. We'll play it your way.
Klipsch - still enjoying rolling that one around my mouth - is the No.1 home cinema providers in the US and they're bringing all of their 60 years of acoustic knowledge within millimetres of your drums.
There are three different models ranging from £69-£149, each designed as much with comfort in mind as sound quality. They all have gel-cushioned ear buds which mould to fit your lug holes perfectly, and they clip gently around and over the tops of your ears with flexible wires.
But form is nothing without function and the top of the range Custom 3s have both tweeters and woofers for an alleged "studio reference acoustic experience". I'm not sure if that refers to sitting around drinking lots of coffee, smoking dope and listening to war stories from some grumpy sound engineer but it sounds interesting all the same.
The Customs 1 & 2 sound impressive in their own right and feature all manner of nonsensical sounding patent-pending technology which is a fair sign that Klipsch has really pushed the boat out.
The more you spend, the more peripherals you receive including carry cases, airline adapters and all come with five different sizes of gel to suit your ears. They also come with cleaning tools, which I assume are for the Klipsch and not your ears. Although, while you're there...
