Hundreds of mysterious ocean containers arrive at Apple Inc. What could be inside?

container_iphones.jpgA mysterious new product is arriving by the boat-load in the USA. Registered to Apple Inc., the customs declaration only reveals that these are "electronic computers". ImportGeinus.com did the serious leg work, trawling through container shipment data (sounds like a lot of fun), and identified a "major spike" in this new type of import.

Who knows, maybe they are electronic computers. Apple makes electronic computers too, right? Oddly enough though, it has never used this precise product description on its imports before. So with iPhones sold out across North America, it can really only be one thing.

Okay, it's now official - the 3G iPhone launch is now the worst kept secret in tech history. In fact I wouldn't have bothered even posting this pretty negligible bit of supporting evidence, but I just really loved the idea of mysterious containers full of unknown devices silently filling America's docks, possibly under cover of night.

But wait. We all think it's going to be a shiny new handset packed full of wonderment. Maybe that's all part of the plan. Aren't we all going to look mighty silly when Steve Jobs' WDC keynote reveals that he's actually part of extra-terrestrial master race and that the whole 3G iPhone thing was a cunning ruse to smuggle in a shipment of alien deathrays! We're on to you 'Apple'.

Oh and on the off chance that these are the latest generation of the popular Apple mobile phone handset instead of the shipment of alien deathrays, the fact that 188 cargo containers full of them might have already arrived should make it a deal easier to pick one up right after Jobsey makes his grand unveiling.
