And you thought SatNav was SatNav. Well it isn't. There's one specifically for bikers, from lost-traveller-helper extraordinaries TomTom.
The RIDER has been updated with Map Share, pre-installed Tele Atlas maps of Eastern and Western Europe if riding to Wales and back isn't enough for you, plus there are more in the way of trip stats to analyse upon your return.
Average speed, total miles travelled and maximum speed hit - ideal for bragging about on the internet - are all recorded, plus the 3.5" 320x240 TFT LCD touchscreen has extra chunky icons for easy access by cold, gloved hands.
This latest software comes standard on all new TomTom RIDERs, plus buyers of older editions can get it all via a free web update. Which is unusually generous, and earns TomTom our Caring Company of the Day award.

Just to clarify, the TomTom Rider used Navteq maps. Suprised? So was I. Turns out it is the only TomTom unit that does not use Tele Atlas maps. So are these mapshare updates going to help update Navteq's map or are they just going to do nothing with them? I'm guessing this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Cheers, GPS Dude. Motorbikes and their satellite-based navigational systems are not exactly my strong point, as you quite possibly may have been able to tell.
