sony-hd-camcorder.jpgGiving Panasonic’s HDC-SD9 a run for its money, Sony has announced the HDR-TG1 camcorder in Korea, which is reportedly the world’s new ‘smallest full HD’ model.

Measuring in at 1.3″ wide by 4.7″ tall and 2.5″ deep, it weighs 282g, which is quite a bit heavier than the Panny’s 115g, but still physically smaller, with the Panasonic measuring 2.5″ x 2.6″ x 4.9″. Alright Sony, you’ve trumped them there admittedly.

Launching on April 20th, it also records at 1920 x 1080p resolution, and takes 4.0-megapixel still photos. Recording onto Sony’s Memory Stick PRO Duo and PRO Duo Mark2 memory cards, the price isn’t confirmed, as is the UK/US release date.
