That Billy Corgan - always ripping up business models and riffs like rebellion is going out of fashion. Someone better tell him it died in the 90s along with Kurt Cobain.
Both Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, in an interview with Spinner, casted doubt over whether they'll release an album again, instead giving preferance to releasing tracks online bit-by-bit. "We want to keep things vital and keep things viable... music has in many ways just become an advertisement for your tour, I don't think we will make records again", explained Chamberlain.
Corgan went on, saying "anyone under the age of 24 just buys songs, it's just in our best interest to release blocks of songs". Considering the Pumpkins' core fanbase is over 24 years in age, would a Radiohead-style move prove lucrative for them, if Corgan's claim about youngersters is correct? Let's keep our ears primed for this one.
