guided_by_nokia_logo.gifNokia has decided to mark the continued drive to put personal navigation and mapping applications on their mobile handsets by sponsoring a rash of sporting events this year.

Apparently, this sponsorship will show just how easy it is to enhance your day-to-day journeys by using Nokia’s navigation services.

The events being sponsored include Bike Week Guided by Nokia (14-22 June), Nokia Royal Windsor Triathlon (15-16 June), Royal Parks Half Marathon (12 October), plus demos of the software at the London Marathon.

Nokia has already been following James Cracknell, via a N82 used to help him navigate the 1500 miles from Dover to Morocco.

Simon Ainslie, MD of Nokia UK, said that he expected to see “a huge change in consumers’ adoption of personal navigation services thanks to their great value and the increasingly relevant lifestyle benefits they offer.”
