Hauppauge debuts world's first 'double twin' TV card

Hauppauge-WinTV-HVR-2200.jpgThere’s really very little point in spending hundreds of hard earned pounds on a fancy hard disc recorder when you can just stick a relatively inexpensive TV card in your PC and use that instead. Or so Hauppauge’s logic goes. And it has gone overboard in its efforts to find a complete all-in-one solution to your TV needs with its latest card, the HVR2200, which contains two analogue tuners alongside a further two digital Freeview tuners.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to record three programs simultaneously while watching a fourth, but let’s face it, there’s never that much worth watching on telly. Instead it’ll mainly be handy for anyone still stuck in an area with poor Freeview reception.

The HVR2200 works with Windows XP Media Center and Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate and will be on sale from this month.
