Dell to offer Inspiron 1525 notebook with Blu-ray drive

dell_inspiron_1525.pngSusi has already reviewed the new Inspiron 1525, which currently is high definition-enabled in as much as it has an HDMI port, but no standard high definition drive.

However, US sites are reporting that Dell is offering a Blu-ray drive as part of the customisation process, so now you can get HD content onto the machine, for viewing on the 15.4-inch glossy screen or output via that HDMI port.

No mention of the upgrade on Dell’s UK site yet, though hopefully that will be a build option soon.

According to reports, the minimum specification for adding a Blu-ray drive is a non-Celeron 1.83GHz processor or better. Adding an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7250 to the basic Inspiron 1525 brings the base price to £489, after which the drive itself needs to be added. That’s US$380, so probably at least £250 for us Brits. Naturally, a Blu-ray writer will cost more; around US$200.

  • Still there is room for greater development and I would recommend more emphasis on research and of course it will bring a better situation. Thanks for sharing a nice read. Cheers
