canon_ixus85.jpgAccording to Canon, the Digital IXUS 70 was the world’s most popular digital compact in 2007. And this is its sequel – the 10MP Digital IXUS 85 IS.

Its design is said to be ‘minimalist’ and ‘retro’, with a silver body, contrasting lens ring and edging details in piano black or silver. Which all hides a decent but fairly unspectacular specification – 3x optical zoom with optical Image Stabilizer , 2.5-inch PureColor II LCD screen, High ISO Auto with Motion Detection Technology, Face Detection Technology with White Balance, Automatic Red-Eye Correction, 19 shooting modes, VGA movie shooting and a high-power flash.

Al of that retails for £239 from – you guessed it – late March.
