Some new ‘S-Frame’ digital photo frames on the market from Sony – the DPF-V900, DPF-V700 and DPF-D70.

The DPF-V900 has a resolution in excess of a million dots, and a 9-inch ultra-high resolution (WVGA) screen that promises ‘photo-realistic images with superb contrast, detailing and colour reproduction’. The DPF-V700 and DPF-D70 both have 7-inch screens. There’s a Sony BIONZ image processor inside the DPF-V900/V700 that opens images of up to 100MB in seconds, as well as offering Auto Touch-up functions like Red-eye Reduction, Skin Smoothing, Focus Correction and Exposure Correction. There’s also an orientation sensor in all models that automatically ‘flips’ images so they’re always displayed correctly.

There is 512MB of storage in all frames (up to 1,000 images), with transfer via USB or wirelessly via an optional Bluetooth adaptor. The DPF-V900 and DPF-V700 also feature an HDMI output that connects to any HD Ready television for super-size slideshows.

Expect them in May, prices to be confirmed.
