Scalextric launches Powerlaps - Top Gear-themed racing

Comments (3)

Unless you happen to be a lower league celebrity, chances are that you'll not be invited to race a car round a track for the BBC's Top Gear programme. But you will soon be able to do it in your living room with the Scalextric Powerlaps set.

Yes, the BBC has done a deal with Scalextric, which means you can now tackle The Stig on his own patch, although you'll still need a balding mullet and ill-fitting jeans for the full-on Clarkson look. The set includes a Ford GT and Porsche 911 GT3R, a replica of the BBC Top Gear track (including the Hammerhead and Gambon corners) and two special edition Stig hand throttles.

It's available from March - price to be confirmed.

Could the Stig possibly be the Swedish world champion rally driver Stig Blomqvist?

I think The Stig is Martin Brundle or Johnny Herbert.
