The car which possibly everyone has been waiting for has finally been given the nod from the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards dudes, and is now legal for sale - in 50 of the US states.
It's been years in the making, but now the $100,000 Roadster can begin production on March 17th, after passing beautifully in all front, rear and side crash tests. Not only that, but the electric motor-powered car passed on the basic rear view mirror, lighting and windshield defogging and defrosting tests.
With just two-seats, the Roadster may be electric, but can get up to speeds of 201km per hour, and run for 400km on a single charge. Sadly all 650 models for this year have been reserved already, and for now, they're just US-bound.
