Sony has launched the Bravia Full HD VPL-VW40 projector for the ‘price-conscious’ consumer, offering high-end features at an affordable price – although that price point isn’t made clear by Sony.

It uses the Bravia Engine, a custom designed processor which applies algorithms ‘exclusively developed by Sony’ to the video signal, digitally enhancing each frame in real time. Other features on the 1080p projector include SXRD panel technology for delivering the full 1920 x 1080 resolution demanded by Full HD, 2.5ms response time, up to 15,000:1 contrast ratio, quiet (22dB) operation, all the connectivity you would need (including HDMI) and a brushed aluminium remote control with fully backlit keypad.

No news on a shelf date as yet.
