Philips.LG and its amazing bendy LCD paper screen

lg-philips.lcd-tv-paper-bendy-screen.jpgIt's a sheet of A4 paper, basically, that has a resolution of 1280 x 800 because it's also an LCD screen. This is the sort of thing that even Arthur C. Clarke wouldn't have been able to imagine existing, not even with the assistance of MIND-BENDING chemical drugs.

It's a bit confusing why this actually does exist, though, but presumably there's some sort of need for a bit of paper that's also a bendy LCD screen.

Posters for missing cats could be bent around trees, for example, animating and flashing at a high resolution to increase the chances of Pootles being returned alive. We will get back to you if any further possible uses for bendy LCD paper pop into out heads.

UPDATE:
You could wrap it around a lampshade and have a totally custom design that's sure to be a conversation starter when friends pop round.

UPDATE #2:
F1 drivers could have them stuck to their helmets to display animating adverts.

UPDATE #3:
Could be taped to the inside of a car windscreen and used as a GPS display. Turns out it's quite a useful invention after all!
