Panasonic's budget LZ-8 and LZ-10 cameras manage to appeal, with their 5x zoom

Decidely less expensive than the DMC-TZ5 we wrote about yesterday are the LZ-8 and LZ-10 models from Panasonic’s Lumix range, which have, whaddya know, 10-megapixels and 8-megapixels respectively.

With a 5x optical zoom however, you’re still getting quite a lot of bang for your buck. Each Lumix also has a 2.5″ screen with 230,000-dots, and the usual intelligent ISO and face detection. For the LZ-8, expect to drop $180 in the US (with UK prices to follow), and the LZ-10 should be $250.

Shame they look so ugly, as they sound quite decent for entry-level cameras.
