Illuminaire offers flat TV ambient lighting

One manufacturer in particular has been offering an ambient glow with TVs – but now everyone can get one with the Illuminaire flat TV ambient lighting.

Why would you want it? Well, apparently lighting behind a viewing screen will dramatically reduce eyestrain. And on a more superficial level, it looks good as mood lighting.

The Illuminaire system uses the latest surface mount LED technology to give out ‘rich and saturated colours’ with no picture interference. You can opt for ever-changing colours, strobing, fading or use a remote to select a favourite fixed colour. And it works even if the TV is off (if you just want some coloured light in the living room).

The Illuminaire has a life expectancy of 50,000 hours, with prices varying depending on your colour options and size of screen, starting at £124.99.
