Hauppauge WinTV-CI – pay TV on PCs

Fancy watching subscription TV on your PC? You can with the Hauppauge WinTV-CI.

It’s a card reader module that accepts any valid viewing card to unscramble pay TV on Freeview and satellite – for the UK, that means Top Up TV and Setanta Sports primarily, although there’s plenty of others to access around Europe.

Use of the Hauppauge WinTV CI is dependant upon obtaining an appropriate CAM for the broadcaster. The most common is the MediaGuard CAM, which is used for Setanta and Top-up TV. Note, there is no compatible CAM available for BSkyB’s Sky TV services (in case you liked that idea).

The WinTV-CI retails for £79.99.
