Here’s something you can fantasise about buying when your winning-the-lottery fantasy comes true, enabling your subsequent quitting-work and moving-to-somewhere-hot fantasy to come true as well.
It’s a fantasy-sized home cinema system that has been designed especially for putting outside. A company called Engineered Environments (rubbish web site for a tech company) made all this and installed it in the garden of some obscenely rich man who lives in Maui, where it’s safe to leave electrical things outside.
The screen is a Stewart Filmscreen front-projection job, hidden from view beneath a bench – and powered into view on hydraulics when it’s time for America’s Next Top Model. There’s a weather station attached to it, which passes wind speed data to the system so the user knows when it’s safe to erect the screen.
We would go into details about what speakers and stuff he’s using too, but this is all way beyond our dreams and aspirations so is actually quite depressing to think about. Back to the misery of a standard indoor 32″ for us lot 🙁
