Piczo to make leap into mobile social networking

piczo-mobile.jpgThere’s a big buzz around mobile social networking at the moment, for logical reasons. For those youngsters who spend hours a day in MySpace, Bebo, Facebook or Piczo, mobile phones are just as central to their lives.

Linking the two should be a no brainer, and three of the social networks named above have already launched mobile services. The fourth, Piczo, has just signed a deal with mobile firm Intercasting to ramp up its mobile activities, with plans for a mobile application, text and picture messaging, and a Piczo mobile internet site.

The aim is to make it easier for users to upload cameraphone snaps, send and receive messages while away from their computers, and post comments on the go too. It’s unclear when the new features will launch, though, and the news has come out of the US – so I’m not sure if it applies to Piczo here in the UK too.
