Bolton – the hometown of Vernon Kay, Peter Kay, Sara Cox, Amir Khan, that bloke from McFly, yours truly and Imran Hakim. Never heard of the last one? Well, he’s the inventor of the iTeddy – first seen on Dragon’s Den and now set for world domination it seems.

Yes, amongst the madcap schemes and toilet covers, some Dragon’s Den products were successful – Imran Hakim’s iTeddy has gone a step further, securing a deal with leading British toy company Vivid Imaginations for world distribution, with sales expected to hit £35 million over the next three years.

iTeddy is being pitched as a teddy bear for the 21st century, with MP4 video play and audio story-telling capability, coupled with a music player and photo storage – all embedded in the bear’s belly Additional content can be downloaded from the iTeddy website including characters such as Postman Pat and Noddy. Licensing deals are already in place with leading entertainment providers including Cartoon Network, Granada and the BBC.

It retails currently for £59.99.
