Aleutia E1 mini Linux PC - solar powered and silent

aleutia_e1_1.jpgCan't get hold on an Eee PC, yet still want a small conversation-starting computer for the coffee table? Try this little cutie.

The Aleutia E1 uses 8 Watts of power when running, a mere fraction of the energy required to have most desktops sitting there doing nothing. Thanks to coming with a 2GB Compact Flash card it uses as a hard drive it's also silent when running. Plus there's an optional solar panel attachment to power the thing - and an equally energy-friendly LCD screen to go with it that uses only 10 Watts to work.

So if you run around the house every night in a plug-switching-off, energy-saving rampage, this little sweetie pie could be the answer to saving at least 50p a year in electricity bills.

You can pick up an E1 for £179 direct from the maker - but be aware that it runs the Puppy Linux OS rather than the comforting world of Windows.
