The launch of Pleo the dinosaur has been plagued with more delays than a Led Zeppelin reunion tour, but finally, finally you can circle off a date in your diaries: um...just circle the next seven weeks, maybe.
The date is still unconfirmed, but manufacturer UGOBE has announced customers who ordered the robot directly from them will receive a 30-day shipment notification before Thanksgiving, otherwise it's simply before Christmas for US retailers.
What's most interesting, perhaps, is that UGOBE has promised a downloadable 'surprise mode' from their revamped website, and free software updates from next year onwards. Considering that the dinobot contains a mini USB and SD memory card slot, these downloadable 'surprise modes' might just reveal added personality depths and qualities - or with an added community behind the site, even open-source apps to pimp your dino up.
