Top 5 Gadget Sparklers for Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the 5th of the November – that’s how the saying goes. Now Guy Fawkes, there was a man who knew a thing or too about making a statement. If only he’d have done it with his gadgets though and shown off his status with some bling, rather than trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

So, as it’s Firework Night today, what better way to mark it than with five top sparklers from the techno-world. Unfortunately, not all of them can be waved around in the air and they don’t make pretty colours in the smoke, but with gold and crystals on them, each one definitely costs more than a penny for the guy!

Gold_Mac.jpg24-carat MacBook Pro – Don’t try using this on the train in the rush hour, or if you do just put a sign on your head that says ‘mug me!’ This Apple gizmo has all the usual specs like a 15-inch screen, wireleess, decent processor and 160GB hard drive but instead of the usual wipe-clean white, it’s GOLD! Not only that, it’s studded with diamonds too – and all for just $9,000, which with today’s exchange rate works out to a British bargain at £4,500. There’s also a gold version without the gems for $6.000. Imagine
turning up at UK customs with that in your back and walking through the ‘nothing to declare’ channel trying to look all innocent.

Jewel-encrusted Nokia N95 – Here’s another one to keep under lock and key when you’re walking around but what a sparkle it makes – thanks to 325 diamonds. Now that’s what I call a different kind of ring. The N95 was always one of the best handsets around but there’s only 10 of these made, so it’s extra special. The handset itself is 18-carat solid white gold and can be personalised with your name or initials, although, you’ve got to say that’s a little chav! The gems weigh 3.30 carats and at £12,000 why not try and palm one off on your fiancee instead of a boring band round her finger.

Swarovski crystal iPhone – If you didn’t know the Apple iPhone was coming out in Britain this week, then shame on you! You should have at least taken a holiday to get away from all the queueing and fuss. But if you’re going to buy one, then stand out from the throng by getting one of these – it’s been blinged up with those crystals from the firm whose name is really hard to pronounce. Prices start at a reasonable $295 for Crystal Icing to set to work – obviously that’s on top of the handset. But you can choose the design so could be a lot of fun creating an iPhone with a Swarovski Apple logo.

Phil_Swar.jpgPhilips Swarovski products – Do you reckon these headphones give ‘crystal clear’ sound! Well, hopefully yes, but if not you’ve got the sparkly gems poking out of your ears to make up for it. Not only have these earphones been given the Swarovski treatment, the firm has also blinged up some USB keys. So I guess now they are being measured in carats rather than gigabytes.

$750,000 piano – Your tunes are going to sound amazing on this, because even if you can’t play a note, who’s going to argue with someone that can afford to spend three quarters of a million dollars on a piano. The Swarovski-Bosendorfer grand would have been a must for Liberace as not only is it a one-off, it’s covered in 8,000 hand-cut Swarovski crystals. Let’s hope it’s not too pretentious for a few bars of Chopsticks?

Carph.jpgBling your own mobile – This is more like it. Create your own sparklers at Carphone Warehouse. Ok, I know this is a sixth product in a top five but hey, there’s always a bit of surprise bang for your buck with real fireworks. And at least this one is far more user friendly and won’t blow a hole in your wallet or purse. Just take a gadget into one of the chain’s high street stores and they’ll give it a makeover with some crystals. Just don’t drop this sparkler into a bowl of water when it’s finished.
