Too much Facebook makes you go blind, y'know. What's more, it denigrates women, promotes unsafe sex, and has far too many dodgy moustaches on show. Oh, hang on. That's porn, isn't it. I'm getting confused again, and that hasn't happened since the time I got kicked off an adult webcam service for challenging the women to games of Scrabulous.
Anyway, why the blather about Facebook and adult entertainment? Well, it seems the former is now more popular than the latter among 18-24 year-old US internet users, according to metrics firm Hitwise. Social networking sites are now the most popular genre of website for that age group, with search engines second, webmail third, and porn in fourth place.
However, older users are still sleazing up the internetweb, with adult entertainment the second top category after search engines for people 25 and over. Which makes me wonder, does Facebook let adult firms make Facebook applications? Oh, if you're wondering about the image, it was third on Google Images when I searched for 'facebook porn', and I couldn't resist.
