BT Vision failing to inspire buying public

Despite the daily bombardment from ads on TV (featuring the increasingly-annoying 21st century family), we’re just not taking to BT Vision.

New figures says 60,000 of the boxes have been sold since its launch – not exactly the “hundreds of thousands” of users it wanted to sign up by the end of the year. BT has since amended this to 100,000, but it’s still well short.

The idea of getting the 80GB Freeview PVR with video-on-demand over a broadband connection isn’t a bad one, but with broadband speeds variable for many people and BT lacking that killer unique selling point right now, maybe expectations were a little high.
