Thrashing away on your guitar might help you relieve stress – but it doesn’t do much for the neighbours’ blood pressure. Perhaps the Vox amPlug could be a compromise?

It’s a miniaturised/battery-powered version of a classic Vox Amp that plugs directly into your guitar and with some headphones, allows you to experience an authentic guitar/amp sound anywhere – and all to yourself. Three classic amps to choose from – the vintage Vox AC30, the raucous Classic Rock and the mind-numbing Metal, likely to come with the volume up to 11.

You can also plug in your MP3 player to play along to your favourites and you get up to 15 hours of guitar heroics from 2x AAA batteries. Expect to pay around £40.
