The watch that tells you the time… verbally

What’s up with this trend of watches that don’t actually have numbers or hands on them? We’ve regularly covered Tokyo Flash’s high-concept timepieces, and now they’ve been joined by a new model called the Zihotch Watch.

Made by Maywa Denki, it doesn’t have any visual representation of the time. It does have numbers, but they’re used to dial like an old-skool telephone. You dial 117, and the watch reads out the time to you through its built-in speaker.

Worth 5,524 yen (around £23.37) of anyone’s money, I think you’ll agree. Or not.
