HTC Shift: now bringing sexyback to mobile computing

HTC-shift.jpg
A very exciting model added to the HTC clan of mobile computers today, the Shift is like an updated Ameo which we saw earlier this year.

The mobile computer features a full qwerty keyboard, just slightly smaller than what you're accustomed to on your PC, and is packing full Windows Vista. The touch-screen Shift has triband HSDPA allowing you to connect to the net wherever you are, and WiFi for when you're lurking outside someone's house accessing their internet illegally. Not that anyone does that anymore, of course...

Push-email is complimented by a new technology HTC are pushing, called SnapVUE, which, when a button on the left side of the device is pushed, it literally snaps to a handy page showing you details regarding your emails, calendar, text messages, contacts and other applications you might need at the touch of a finger.

The Shift weighs just 800g, and with a 7-inch screen it's perfect for when you're on the move and can't bear to be away from Vista. Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, did hint in his presentation today that users may be able to downgrade to XP at a later date if necessary.

It'll be out at the end of October, and the only price we heard today was 1,199 Euros.
