Google has entered the world of Facebook with the launch of its Google News application. It's an "experimental application" which allows FB's users to select from a range of predefined news sections, or create their own with keywords.

It's then possible for them to highlight and share news stories with their friends.

Naturally, the application is in beta — would you expect anything else from Google. It seems to work well enough, though.

This doesn't imply any further relationship between the two companies. After all, anyone is free to develop applications for Facebook.
