youtube-urinating-man.jpgI wish that headline was a joke, leading into a funny story. But no, it’s the literal truth: Hartlepool resident Anthony Anderson is in court for urinating on 50-year-old Christine Lakinski as she lay dying in a doorway, while filming it on his mobile phone and shouting “This is YouTube material!”.

He’s facing a prison sentence for his actions, having admitted to the charge of outraging public decency. “Although his actions did not contribute to her death it was appalling behaviour that robbed her of any dignity in the last hours of her life,” said prosecutor Lynne Dalton.

Anderson is due to be sentenced on 22nd October at Teesside Crown Court. We all laugh about teenagers happy slapping each other in the playground and recording it for Web 2.0 posterity, but this is just shocking. Thankfully, no opportunistic politicians have yet been on the news blaming mobile phones or YouTube for the dreadful incident.
