iPhone price cut to $399 in the US, but no UK launch news

apple-iphone-no-uk-news.jpgDespite reports that Apple would use tonight's product launch to announce the European launch date for iPhone, we had no such luck. Instead, Apple announced that it's cutting the price of the 8GB iPhone to $399 immediately in the US, for a pre-Christmas sales surge.

That's a $200 price cut, and the new price makes it $100 less than the 4GB model, which is being phased out (it's not for sale on the US Apple Store any more, anyway). Apple also reckons it's on track to sell its millionth iPhone by the end of September.

But really, c'mon Apple, surely it's time to let us Brits know when we can get our hands on the device. Much more of a delay, and we'll start worrying that we're not going to see your handset this side of Christmas...

It looks like it will be available from September 24th (see amazon.co.uk) priced at £199 for 8gb or £269 for 16gb

The one on Amazon make no reference to carrier, so hopefully that will be unlocked... perhaps!

This is great, I bought it already and I'm happy with it. I tell u people buy it very good thing.
