Apple introduces iPod Classic: up to 160GB and 40 hours battery life

ipod-classic.jpgWho cares about boring old iPods when there's a slinky new iPod Touch in town? Well, plenty of people, if they're offered an iPod Classic with 160GB of storage and a whopping 40 hours of battery life for music playback.

Yep, the iPod Classic was also on the menu at tonight's Apple launch. It'll actually come in two models: an 80GB version for £159, and the 160GB version for £229. Both are on sale from Apple's UK online store now.

Both are available in silver and black editions, and come preloaded with three games: iQuiz, Vortex and Klondike. You can expect the 40 hours of audio playback from the 160GB model (or seven hours of video), while the 80GB version offers up to 30 hours of music and five hours of video.
