I thought one of the reasons discmans disappeared into the ether was due to their clunky, hardly portable size, so a portable DVD player designed to slip into your jeans pocket doesn't sound very appealing. Who actually uses DVDs anymore on the go? Don't we all have iPods or PMPs?
Yong-Seong Kim is obviously still living in 1999, as he's designed a butterfly-knife dual music player which, yes, plays the ancient format. It folds into a candybar shape using something akin to magic (ok, flexible OLED), and can be pulled open when you want to insert a DVD. As all 'revolutionary' products, this is still just a concept, but somehow I doubt it'll ever become a reality, when digital films and music are the way forward. Thank god for BitTorrent.
