Another new addition to Toshiba’s Satellite range, the X200 series, described as a ‘premier gaming notebook’.

It features Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT graphics with 512MB GDDR3 SDRAM VRAM and 1279MB Turbocache, with 2GB RAM. An HDMI output port is also included, so you can take advantage of the HD DVD-ROM and DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive. And there’s second generation NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology – the first video processor to offload 100% of HD DVD H.264 video decoding from the CPU.

Also of note is the sound, with four Harman Kardon speakers (2 bass and 2 tweeters), subwoofer and Dolby Sound Room. There’s also a 17-inch TruBrite WSXGA+ display, a fingerprint reader for one-touch secure access, a Dual Mode touch pad for one-touch short cuts to applications, Bluetooth 2.0, five-in-one card reader, built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam and the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.

The Satellite X200 is available now in the UK starting at £1,199.00 (excluding VAT).
