Thuraya unveils the SG-2520 - smallest satellite mobile phone

One for the real roamers amongst you - the Thuraya SG-2520, claimed to be the world’s smartest and lightest dual-mode satellite mobile phone.

That means satellite telephony in more than 110 nations in Europe, North, Central Africa and large parts of Southern Africa, the Middle East, Central and South Asia from a pocket-sized unit, weighing in at 170g. And it also operates as a tri-band GSM device where available, as well as a GPS unit - which might come in handy in the desert.

Other features include a 1.3 megapixel camera, 1.9-inch screen, wide language support, 128MB memory, SD card expansion slot, Bluetooth, WAP and a talk time of up to four hours. Price on request.
